ang pakikipagsapalaran sa lansangan ng Legarda

monday. after my eng30 class, i went to Legarda. i was planning that time to buy a book for one of my majors at goodwill bookstore.
That was my first time to get there - which i believe is a very stressful place - with all the noise, smoke, crowd,  dirt, odor plus the ultra-mega hot weather. i thought looking for the legarda branch would not be difficult. but it seems na napaglaruan ako.
what i only had as a guide was a text message from a friend giving me the instructions of going there.  i followed it carefully. and everything i saw fits his descriptions.. "may jollibbee sa intersection ng legada-recto malapit CEU. then katabi ng jollibbee ay chowking". tapos malapit na dun. malapit sa pagkaliwa ng LRT" except for one thing: there's no goodwill. so i decided to do it my way.
i entered every road i encounter, took all the possible directions, ask few people, crossed all avenues and made every plausible turn. naikot ko na ang lahat ng univeristy dun - san beda, ceu, ue, nu, saint benilde -recoletos, st. m-something. pati claro recto high school. but not a single bookstore showed up.
i even went up a pink bridge to have an entire picture of its vicinity. but it's still the same, chowking, jollibbee, then the many universities. it's futile.
but im a man of determination. when i feel that not even a liitle good thing happens, i pause, rest, think and try again.
i thought a good idea. what if i look for its exact address? so i entered a nearby computer shop, and searched for the complete address of the bookstore. i was successful, 2164 Legarda Street. I immediately logged off, went to the counter and paid. i asked  the cashier. ano pong address nito? ...
she answered:"2165".
what?!?!
when i opened the door,  took few steps forward and looked up,  there i saw a goodwill signage board.
With all the efforts, i only found out that its Legarda branch was already phased out, and replaced by a  Mang Inasal resto...nakakatawa lang kasi naisip ko na yun nung una pa, kasi medyo bago panga tingnan ung mang inasal. di ko nga lang tinanong ung guard assigned.
but God was still good, when i went to recto, i saw the book I was looking for.  and at a cheaper price...
...a tiring adventure...
PS: since that area is occupied by so many univs, what if they all formally join force, close the area to public and make it a huge school complex, under a certain name. baka matapatan na nila ung UP. =)
